WOODSETTON ART POTTERY is a Collection of exclusive and innovative designs in Porcelain, to complement interior styles from modern minimalist right back to Art Nouveau and Arts & Crafts.

Every piece is either made by or under the supervision of our Designer, Lorraine G Bates BA (Hons), who develops the glazes and manufacturing techniques used, and also designs the Pewter components featured in many of the pieces.

The richly coloured glazes are hand applied and during firing they react and develop varying shades and textures, so that no two pieces are ever identical in appearance.

The Studio pieces are one-of-a-kind and mostly wheel thrown, whilst for the Art Pottery pieces, castings techniques are used to obtain the asymmetric shapes, and the thin, elegant profiles which are a feature of this unique Collection.

'Woodsetton' is just a few miles away from the site of the Ruskin Pottery, a pioneer in the English Arts & Crafts style of mixing ceramics with metal, and a leader in innovative glaze techniques, until its closure in the mid 1930's.

Pieces from these Collections are also available from selected Galleries and retail outlets.

Lorraine is a member of the Midlands Potters' Association which is open to members interested in any aspect of ceramics.
